Without anything to manage it, the water will gradually turn murky, start to smell, and eventually become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.

The filtration system is like a "water purifier"—it traps waste before it enters the pond, separating impurities from the water. Nowadays, there are systems that can automatically filter and clean themselves, known as drum filters, which significantly reduce the burden on fish keepers.
